Steam and Hot Water Heating System Specialists:
Steam heating systems for homes had its roots in the United States in 1841.
Almost 40 years later gravity hot water heating
began its evolution. There
have obviously been many advancements made from those early years, but an in
depth
understanding of the basic principles of how these systems were designed
and work is essential in troubleshooting the
problems that are encountered today. We, at American Vintage Home, Inc. do have this
unique understanding of these
older systems of yesteryear. Incorporating
this knowledge of the past with a full knowledge of the products available today
enable American Vintage Home, Inc. to be
the #1 authority on any issues regarding the installation, service and
replacement
of hot water and steam heating systems.
There is not one boiler that is best for everyone. That is why American Vintage Home, Inc. has spent countless hours researching all the boilers manufactured today in order to offer an impressive and diversified product line that will give our customers a choice of the finest products available. It is one thing to have the finest products available, it is another to have the technical knowledge and know-how to design and install these products. At American Vintage Home, Inc. we pride ourselves on having the most highly experienced technicians and design engineers in the industry in order to ensure that the equipment you have installed by us in your home will operate optimally, offering you the highest comfort, efficiency and reliability attainable.
If your present boiler is like many older gas boilers, it is probably operating at 60% efficiency. That means 40% of the heat is going right up the chimney. We can help you reduce your fuel bills by over 30% by installing new energy efficient boilers. These boilers attain efficiencies in the 90%'s and in fact do not even vent their flue gases into your chimney.
Should you need some help or advice on the replacement of your current boiler, please feel free to call us. Our knowledgeable sales engineers will address your needs and wants in order to choose the right boiler for you.
There is nothing quite like radiant floor heating. Radiant floor heating actually dates back to the days of the Romans. As early as 60 A.D. Roman buildings were equipped with crude, but effective radiant floor heating systems. Greater comfort combined with unmatched fuel efficiency has brought back a re-emergence of this form of heating and this obviously explained why radiant heating systems have become the single fastest growing segment of the heating industry.
Radiant Heating Benefits:
Comfort - Radiant heating turns floors into radiators. This
comfort system concentrates the
heat near the floor - where people are located.
Efficiency - Radiant floor heating is the most efficient mode
of heat delivery in existence.
Because floor heating warms people and
objects directly ( as opposed to heating air),
and
controls the heat loss of
a person, comfort can be achieved at lower temperature
settings. Floor
heating systems can provide energy savings of 20-40% over forced
air systems.
Clean and Healthy - Because radiant floor heating does not
rely on circulating air, dust particles do not readily spread throughout
the house.
Quiet - Radiant floor heating is virtually silent when it
operates.
More Usable Space - With no bulky radiators or baseboard,
homes with radiant floor heating tend to have more useable space.
Perfect for Concrete Slabs - Turns a cold slab into a cozy
warm floor.
What Makes Radiant Floors so Comfortable? - The entire floor surface area becomes, in effect, a low temperature radiator. Since a person is always in contact with the floor, or in contact with something that's in contact with the floor, that person is warmed directly by the floor, rather than chilled by losing heat to a cold air surface. In addition, the floor acts as a radiator by warming all the surfaces in that room, which helps keep about 80% of a person's heat loss in balance.
Radiant Floors Can be Used on All Types of Finished Floors - Radiant heat can be used to heat wooden floors as long as surface temperature does not exceed 80 degrees.
At American Vintage Home, Inc. we pride ourselves on being the leaders in both the installation and servicing of these radiant floor heating systems. Should you have any questions on anything regarding these systems we certainly do have the experience and know-how to come up with a solution to help you.
Forced Air System Specialists:
American Vintage Home, Inc. has the ability to design and install any forced air heating or forced air cooling system in any home in order to provide a total comfort system. All American Vintage Home, Inc. systems are meticulously engineered to ensure optimum comfort and efficiency.
Meticulous engineering constitutes calculating a heat gain and heat loss for each room of the house. Once this has been calculated we can determine the appropriate size and quantity of vents for each room in order to ensure even temperatures throughout the house. These calculations will also determine the overall size of the heating and cooling equipment. This precise sizing of the equipment ensures optimum efficiency and longevity of the newly installed equipment.
American Vintage Home, Inc. has a great deal of experience in order to come up with solutions to age old problems that most homeowners or contractors simply give up on. We have an undying love for these older homes, and will stop at nothing in order to solve any heating and cooling issues that are presented to us.
Forced Air Furnace Replacements:
Over the last number of years there has been a great deal to be excited about in furnace technology. The furnaces of today have many new features which allow the furnaces to operate more economically, at a reduced sound level, and allow for an improved overall comfort throughout the house. We would like to take a moment to go over just a few of these features with you so you can truly understand some of the benefits these types of furnaces can offer. If your present furnace is like many older furnaces it is probably operating at 60% efficiency. That means 40% of the heat is going up your chimney. A new furnace can attain efficiencies in the 90's thus saving you hundreds of dollars in energy costs. Single stage furnaces have been the norm for years and only have one operational setting - full blast. They heat up quickly and then simply shut down, generating uncomfortable "hot and cold spots" in your home. In contrast, the newer technology has two stages of heat. The primary stage of the furnace will come on in milder weather and will operate at much reducing firing rate. Once the weather gets colder, the higher stage kicks in, increasing the output of the burners. (Studies have shown that the furnaces in this area will operate approximately 70-80% of the time at low fire.) When the furnace operates at low fire, the furnace will run for a longer period of time and therefore establish a much more even heat distribution throughout the house. The lower firing rate of the furnace also reduces the speed of the blower. This not only reduces the sound level of the blower, but improves filtration, and enhances humidification.
Another feature available on furnaces today is variable speed blowers. These blowers will provide electrical savings of $300.00-$500.00 should the fan run continuously. This technology also allows A/C equipment to achieve a higher moisture removal rate which in this area is a tremendous attribute.
